Zodiac Killer News Update April 14, 2009 - 408 Character Cipher

As promised, we published our detailed findings on the 408-character cipher of the Zodiac Killer in the meantime. It is amazing how much extra information we could gather through careful analysis of a well-known Zodiac Killer cipher decoded more than three decades ago. With our work and findings, we could clearly demonstrate that only the low hanging apples had been picked and that new and interesting conclusions from old information are still possible. Furthermore, with our interpretation of the last 18 characters of the Z 408 cryptogram, we could establish and substantiate a new and exciting theory of the meaning of the last 18 cipher characters. Zodiac Killer Breaking News - April 19, 2009 - New Cipher Decrypted

After we shared our views and conclusions on the Z 408 cipher, we are proud to announce the complete decrypted full text solution of a lesser-known and nearly forgotten Zodiac cipher, Z 148, that some people considered a possible hoax. We believe the contrary.

In the meantime, we enhanced our EBEORIETEMETHHPITI page in the Z 408 section of our Zodiac Killer Cipher category with additional information. In the second half of the page, we explain in more detail how we arrived at our findings and how these findings can be verified. We realize we should have done this in the first place. It is still a learning curve for us. While we have highest respect for other suggested solutions, we believe that our interpretation of the last 18 characters of the Z 408 cipher is more straightforward than cipher-in-the-cipher theories or complicated transpositions. We believe that a plain text solution is much more plausible, considering that were working on an already decoded cipher. To further strengthen the points that we made on the Z 148 cipher, we added a Cipher Comparison page where you can weigh merged versions of the Z 408 and the Z 148 against each other. While initially we have been very skeptical, but the more we work on the Z 148, the more we believe that it might be a genuine Zodiac Killer cipher. We hope that with the additional information mentioned above we could satisfy the skeptics and inspire further discussion and re-discussion. Obviously, there is still a lot to be found out.
